Totem Lake Dentistry's original website generated less than 10 leads in one year

Founded in 1998, Totem Lake Dentistry enjoyed significant new patient growth solely via patient base referrals. As the practice grew via word of mouth alone, it wasn't long before the office was at maximum capacity. Not anymore.

The last ten years has seen the practice at 30% capacity with patient growth struggling to keep up with attrition. Totem Lake Dentistry had already reinvested into their website once, but received little in terms of lead generation or new patients.

02. The solution

A Simplified Web Experience Tuned For Mobile Conversions

We delivered a clear cut growth strategy for Totem Lake Dentistry. Our research showed that most new patients moving into the Totem Lake area were younger Millennials. Patients surveyed first explored Google and Yelp reviews, evaluated the website for quality and ease of use, then sought a promotion; all before requesting an appointment. The strategy we embarked on would overcome any potential objections along the UX journey.

First, to achieve social proof, we launched a heavy current-patient campaign to solicit 5-star reviews to their Google and Yelp profiles. Second, we designed a series of promotions and landing pages to host promotions and field Pay Per Click traffic. Third, we designed a website to guide a new patient though a predictable vetting process - all achieved within the home page.

We built 3 separate versions of the website for Desktop / Tablet / Phone complete with custom element sizing and reformatting. Fully custom responsive to ensure anyone using a mobile phone would have 0 objections.

03. The Results

Within 3 months, Totem Lake Dentistry's unprecedented growth paid testament to ClickDone's work.

Despite 20+ years of experience, the patient base was shrinking.

Jenny Ngai prided herself and her practice with the highest quality and consistency of patient care and her patients were extremely loyal to her brand.

The old website was slow, wasn't mobile friendly, and it's clunky and dated design left viewers wary trusting the high-end personalized service promoted.

As a result, all her new patient referrals who visited the site were going to waste, and the resulting lack of traction couldn't replace the natural attrition in her patient base.

02. The solution

A Personalized Approach

Jenny offered a personalized experience with many willing to pay a premium for trust and expertise. People go for Jenny alone, her skills, and her results. So the entire branding strategy was centered on her (as far as she was willing to go) ...professional photography, logo, information, reviews, etc.

We knew her upper-income patient base would connect with a dark theme & "luxury salon" look and feel. The logo (wordmark) was simple: Her full name in bold. High contrast.

As far as the UX (user experience), new and existing patients received instant access to any function within the site in under 5 seconds. All shortcuts were made available within 2 screen-lengths.

Linh Nguyen, DDS needed a partner that understood his vision and goals. At the time, his dentistry chain was branded Best Dentistry. He paid $8k for a prior website that didn't complement his vision and wanted something truly custom.

ClickDone had to fully understand Smile Hub Dental's internal operations and processes. It was an essential step on the journey to correctly positioning adoptable technology that helped unlock their ambitious expansion goals.

Streamlined Millennial Patient Experience

ClickDone's contributions to name selection and logo design were inspired from the simplistic and vibrant style of today's largest technology startup brands. We worked towards a brand that felt fresh but familiar. After 5 scrapped design attempts, we settled on the final design.

The new website was designed to guide a millennial persona through a buyer's journey; essentially answering the following questions in order:

1. What is Smile Hub Dental?
2. Do they offer what I want?
3. Should I trust it?
4. How much is it?
5. What's it like?
5. Where do I go?

Custom plugins and clever design allowed us to fit the entire buyer's journey in the home page.
